800 Degrees Pizza Opens in Westwood Village: Delicious Pizza in Under 3 Minutes
by Nancy Eisenstadt on January 11, 2012Westwood Village has a new pizza place and fans have been standing in line the last two weeks just to get in the door. 800 degrees pizza is owned in part by the Umami Restaurant Group which transformed the hamburger and now they are bringing that kind of uniqueness to pizza.
The Neapolitan style pizza is cooked to order and restaurant goers have choices of meats, cheeses and vegetables. Everything is cooked in the pizza oven right in the middle of the restaurant. The pizza is actually cooked in a about a minute. In addition to pizza, 800 degrees serves burrata salads and gelato from LA Creamery.
It’s been a long time since a restaurant has sparked so much interest in Westwood, clearly it’s a sign of what has been missing here. The restaurant, which is open each night until 2a.m. should be the perfect fit for UCLA students as well as people passing through Westwood.
800 degrees is located at 10889 Lindbrook in Westwood Village. I have not yet braved the line, but my son and his friends did and they loved it.
When will you try this new restaurant? What’s your favorite local pizza place? Let me know what you think and leave your comments below.
